Tuesday night at Bucktown Social delivered one of the most dramatic finishes we've seen in weeks. Seven teams took on four rounds of trivia covering pop culture flops, music lyrics, general knowledge, and riddle-style identity questions — and the outcome wasn't decided until the very last wager of the night.
Two Girls One Steve held steady across all four rounds to take the crown with 334,516 points. But the real jaw-dropper? Mr todd walked in for Round 4 only and nearly won the entire night, racking up 316,000 points in a single round — just 18,516 points short of the lead. That kind of single-round performance is almost unheard of.
The night opened with a tour through history's greatest failures — from Colgate's ill-advised frozen food line to Garth Brooks' bizarre Chris Gaines alter ego.
| Rank | Team | Points | Accuracy |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Two Girls One Steve | 10,008 | 60% |
| 2 | Thefungang | 6,156 | 45% |
| 3 | The Wannabees | 4,516 | 60% |
| 4 | PJ | 2,202 | 45% |
Room Accuracy: ~53%
The round featured one complete shutout: nobody identified "Turn-On" as the 1969 sketch comedy show cancelled mid-episode (0% accuracy). Magic Johnson's failed late-night show was the easiest at 100% — everyone remembered that one.
Other tough questions included M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender" (25%), Sandra Bullock's "Speed 2" cruise ship replacement (25%), Coca-Cola buying Columbia Pictures (25%), and Eddie Murphy's "The Adventures of Pluto Nash" (25%).
Two Girls One Steve built an early lead with strong wager play, earning 1,664 points on the Wild Wild West wager and then a massive 5,004 on the Chris Gaines closer.
Lone wolf joined the field for Round 2, bringing the count to five as teams tested their music knowledge across decades of hits.
| Rank | Team | Points | Accuracy |

| 1 | PJ | 32,000 | 65% |
| 2 | The Wannabees | 30,000 | 60% |
| 3 | Two Girls One Steve | 26,000 | 70% |
| 4 | Thefungang | 26,000 | 55% |
| 5 | Lone wolf | 17,250 | 55% |

This was the round where accuracy was highest all night. Four questions hit perfect 100%: Billy Joel's "Piano Man," Paul Anka's "Put Your Head on My Shoulder," Madonna's "Like a Prayer," and the wager question on The Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction." When the entire room nails a wager, it's a beautiful thing.
But Florence + The Machine's "Dog Days Are Over" stumped every single team (0% accuracy) — the only complete shutout of Round 2. Coldplay's "Yellow" also proved tricky at just 20%, with only Two Girls One Steve correctly identifying the artist. Fall Out Boy's "Sugar, We're Goin Down" also sat at 20%.
PJ surged into the lead for this round on strong wager play, nailing the Bridge Over Troubled Water wager (+6,000) and the Satisfaction closer (+15,000).
This is where the night got brutal. Fun Facts lived up to its name in the worst way possible — three teams walked away with zero points despite answering more than half the non-wager questions correctly.
| Rank | Team | Points | Accuracy |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Thefungang | 22,482 | 40% |
| 2 | Two Girls One Steve | 14,508 | 35% |
| 3 | PJ | 0 | 60% |
| 4 | The Wannabees | 0 | 55% |
| 5 | Lone wolf | 0 | 15% |
Room Accuracy: ~41%
Three questions achieved a perfect 0% shutout — the most we've seen in a single round at Bucktown:
On the flip side, two questions were perfect 100%: "Which is NOT a triathlon event?" (Rifle Shooting) and "Mile High City" (Denver, Colorado).
The wagers were absolutely devastating in this round. The dice question (Q10, "total dots on a pair of dice" — the answer is 42) saw only Two Girls One Steve get it right (+5,364), while The Wannabees lost 8,152 and PJ lost 5,000. The second most common U.S. surname (Johnson) caught teams off guard at just 20% accuracy, costing Two Girls One Steve 5,887 points and PJ 4,000. The fortnight question (14 days) delivered the final blow: The Wannabees lost 9,431 and PJ lost 6,584 on incorrect wagers.
PJ had 60% raw accuracy — the best in the room — but the three wager losses (-5,000, -4,000, -6,584) zeroed out everything. The Wannabees hit 55% accuracy but suffered the same fate with wager losses totaling -19,128. This round was a masterclass in how wagering matters more than knowledge.
Thefungang won the round not by being the most accurate (40%), but by landing two key wagers: the fortnight question (+11,241) made the difference.
Two new teams appeared for the finale: Mr todd and THOR. What happened next was extraordinary.
| Rank | Team | Points | Accuracy |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mr todd | 316,000 | 65% |
| 2 | Two Girls One Steve | 284,000 | 65% |
| 3 | PJ | 176,000 | 80% |
| 4 | THOR | 154,000 | 50% |
| 5 | Lone wolf | 60,000 | 40% |

This round used escalating point values (3000/4000/5000) plus four massive wager questions, creating the largest point swings of the night.
Mr todd's wager run was legendary: Nefertiti (+14,000), Harry Houdini (+33,000), Gargoyle (+75,000), and Metatarsal (+158,000). That's 280,000 points from wagers alone — in a single round. He correctly identified all four wager answers and bet aggressively every time. His 316,000-point single-round total nearly leapfrogged a team that had played all four rounds.
THOR also made a splash with 154,000 points in his only round, riding strong wager performances on Houdini (+21,000) and Gargoyle (+23,000) plus a massive Metatarsal wager (+77,000).
PJ bounced back with the highest accuracy of anyone in any round all night: 80%, correctly answering 16 of 20 questions. His R4 performance of 176,000 points was excellent, recovering from the R3 zero.
The Wannabees suffered their second consecutive zero-point round. Despite 55% accuracy on standard questions, a catastrophic -98,000 point loss on the Metatarsal wager (they answered "Tarsal" instead of "Metatarsal") wiped out their entire round.
Steve Irwin (100%) and the Gargoyle wager (100%) were the easiest questions. The Appendix as a "safe house for good bacteria" (14%), Santorini's volcanic history (14%), and the Slow Loris as the only venomous primate (14%) were the toughest.
| Rank | Team | Total Points | Overall Accuracy | Rounds Played |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Two Girls One Steve | 334,516 | 57% | 4 |
| 2 | Mr todd | 316,000 | 65% | 1 |
| 3 | PJ | 210,202 | 63% | 4 |
| 4 | THOR | 154,000 | 50% | 1 |
| 5 | Thefungang | 89,638 | 44% | 4 |
| 6 | Lone wolf | 77,250 | 28% | 3 |
| 7 | The Wannabees | 34,516 | 57% | 4 |
If there's one takeaway from this Tuesday, it's that wagering is everything. PJ posted the best accuracy in R3 (60%) and R4 (80%) but still went home in third because of three costly R3 wager misses. The Wannabees had consistently solid accuracy (55-60% in every round) but back-to-back zero-point rounds in R3 and R4 dropped them to last. Meanwhile, Mr todd showed up, played one round, bet the house on every wager, got them all right, and nearly won the whole night. That's the magic of Bucktown trivia.
Trivia at Bucktown Social happens every Tuesday night, 6-8 PM at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Davenport. Social Hour starts at 5:30 PM with $3 off wine, $5 Domestic Drafts, and $7 Import Drafts. Drink and food prizes are given throughout the night!
