Together Again: Trivia Night Returns to West 2nd Street — Together on 2nd Launch Night Recap (April 30, 2026)

A Homecoming Two Years in the Making

Some nights are just trivia. Last night wasn't one of them.

On April 30, 2026, trivia officially returned to 832 West 2nd Street in Davenport — the same address where, two years ago, a little hobby was given the space to become something real. Back when this bar was Mary's on 2nd, Thursday night trivia became a weekly ritual for a loyal group of regulars who showed up rain or shine, week after week, and turned what started as an experiment into THE place to be on a Thursday night. Over 105 trivia sets were created under that roof. Friendships were built. Rivalries were born. And a lot of wager points were lost in spectacular fashion.

Now, under new ownership as Together on 2nd — with Matt Maslowski at the helm and Colton stepping in as bar manager — the space has been reimagined with a tagline that says it all: "Where Everyone Belongs." And on launch night, it felt exactly like coming home.

Ten teams showed up to play. Many of them were the same faces who'd been filling those seats for years. And the four rounds? All themed around the word "Together."

The Rounds

The four themed rounds for launch night:

  • Round 1: Together Again — Reunions in music, TV, sports, and nature
  • Round 2: Better Together — Famous duos and iconic pairings
  • Round 3: Come Together — Mergers, unions, and things joining forces
  • Round 4: All Together Now — Unity movements, LGBTQ+ history, and coming together for a cause

Round 1: Together Again (Room Accuracy: 76.0%)

The night opened with reunions — bands getting back together, TV shows returning, species being reintroduced to the wild. The room came in sharp. Queen at Live Aid (Q3) and "Top Gun: Maverick" (Q8) were both answered correctly by every single team that responded — 100% accuracy on both.

The round's lone stumper was Q10, which asked which 1990s boy band reunited in 2013 with all five original members. Not a single team got it right — 0% accuracy. Q14 about Guns N' Roses reuniting after a 23-year feud between Axl Rose and Slash also proved tricky at 38%.

"..." — the team name that Mary's regulars know very well, piloted by ...(Dot Dot Dot) — took Round 1 with 12,424 points on 80% accuracy. ... has been a fixture at trivia across multiple Gleeful Events venues. At Mary's, they were a perennial contender; at Front Street Taproom, they've won multiple nights outright, including dominant performances on 4/17 and 4/24. Coming into T2's launch night, they clearly hadn't lost a step.

Quizzlers (11,370 pts, 75%) and Shady Pines (9,800 pts, 75%) rounded out the top 3. Both are longtime Mary's regulars — Quizzlers played for a long time under the name "Bone Rangers" before rebranding for the new venue. Shady Pines has been a consistent presence at both Mary's and El Centenario.

Noice!, despite posting the best accuracy of the round at 90% (18 of 20 correct), finished 5th with only 6,264 points — a sign that they were playing conservative with their wagers early on. That strategy would pay off later.

Round 2: Better Together (Room Accuracy: 75.8%)

Famous duos and pairings — from Simon & Garfunkel to Bonnie and Clyde, from Woody and Buzz Lightyear to Larry Page and Sergey Brin. The room stayed strong with several 100% questions: Toy Story's central duo (Q5), OutKast (Q11), Daft Punk (Q16), the Channel Tunnel connecting England and France (Q17), and Travolta/Jackson in "Pulp Fiction" (Q19).

The hardest question of the entire night so far landed here: Q10 asked for the biological term describing two organisms of different species living in close physical association where both benefit. The answer was mutualism, and not a single team got it right — 0%. The Black Keys question (Q8) also stumped nearly everyone at just 12% (only 1 of 8 teams correct).

Quizzlers absolutely dominated this round — 90% accuracy (18 of 20), winning the round with 18,000 points. "..." tied them in points (18,000) but with 85% accuracy. The wager question about the Manhattan cocktail (Q20) created some drama: Taste the RAINBOW 🌈 lost 13,000 points on a wrong answer, and Duke dropped 7,000.

Round 3: Come Together (Room Accuracy: 71.2%)

Mergers, unions, and things joining forces. The difficulty ramped up here. Several questions tested knowledge of craft and science — woodworking (dovetail joints, 100%), weather fronts (100%), Pangaea (100%), and cooking techniques (roux at 100%, tempering at 100%, emulsion at 88%). But the trivia deep cuts hit hard.

Q20, the final wager question about ligaments, was brutal: only 17% accuracy (1 of 6 correct). Music in My Crotch lost 31,700 points on it. Red Hot Trivia Peppers lost 24,478. Duke lost 13,114. Nearly every team wagered big and got burned — except Quizzlers, who picked up 4,344 points as the lone correct answer.

But the real story of Round 3 was the second wager (Q15, about the Missouri River). "..." wagered huge and got it wrong, losing 35,987 points. Quizzlers also lost 28,337. Meanwhile Noice! got it right and banked 33,333 points — catapulting them from 5th place all the way to 1st overall. That single wager completely reshuffled the leaderboard.

Kintsugi (Q7, 38%) and ensemble (Q13, 38%) also stumped much of the room — not bad for a craft question and a music theory term.

Round 4: All Together Now (Room Accuracy: 68.0%)

The final round leaned into unity movements, LGBTQ+ history, and coming together for a cause — fitting for a venue whose tagline is "Where Everyone Belongs." This was the toughest round of the night, and it's where the game got absolutely wild.

The room handled Magna Carta (Q2, 100%) and NAFTA (Q6, 100%) with ease, and most teams knew "Pose" (Q4, 78%), ACT UP (Q17, 78%), the Women's March (Q20, 78%), and the Trevor Project (Q18, 78%). But ecotone (Q3) stumped nearly everyone at 22%, and the Treaty of Rome (Q12) landed at just 25%.

Now for the wagers — and this is where launch night became legendary.

Wager Q5 (Quincy Jones / "We Are the World"): Most teams got this right. Taste the RAINBOW 🌈 banked 14,000. Noice! added 10,000. But the real fireworks were still coming.

Wager Q10 (United Nations founding): "..." wagered 37,000 and got it right, briefly surging. But Duke lost 23,000 and Music in My Crotch lost 13,000.

Wager Q15 (Marsha P. Johnson): This is the one that broke the game wide open. Taste the RAINBOW 🌈 wagered 52,000 and got it RIGHT. Noice! wagered 49,000 — also correct. But "..." wagered 81,000 and got it WRONG. In a single question, they went from contention to 6th place. An 81,000-point swing. That's the biggest single-question loss in recent Gleeful Events history.

Wager Q20 (The Women's March): The final question of the night, and Taste the RAINBOW 🌈 went all in. 121,000 points wagered. Correct. They finished with 242,000 points in Round 4 alone — vaulting from 7th place overall to 2nd. Noice! wagered 107,000, also correct, cementing their win. Quizzlers added 46,000 with a correct answer of their own.

Winner: Noice! with 301,667 points and 79% accuracy across 80 questions. They won R3 outright and rode aggressive, well-timed wagers through R4 to seal the deal.

Biggest Comeback: Taste the RAINBOW 🌈 — entered Round 4 in 7th place with just 8,578 cumulative points, then scored 242,000 in the final round alone to finish 2nd. They went 17 for 19 (85%) in R4 and hit every single wager correctly. It's one of the most spectacular runs in Gleeful Events history.

Highest Accuracy: Quizzlers at 83% overall (66 of 80 correct). They also won R2 with 90% accuracy. Despite being the most knowledgeable team in the room, they finished 3rd — a reminder that in this format, wagering strategy matters as much as what you know.

Heartbreak of the Night: "..." — "..." led after R1 and R2, was tied for the best accuracy through two rounds at 83%, but a devastating R3 (lost 35,987 on the Missouri River wager) and an even more devastating R4 (lost 81,000 on the Marsha P. Johnson wager) dropped them from 1st to 6th. They still finished with 80% accuracy and 64 correct answers — proving that the cruelty of the wager is the great equalizer.

The Regulars Come Home

What made this night special wasn't just the trivia — it was who showed up. Team after team that had been fixtures at Mary's on 2nd walked through the door at Together on 2nd and sat down like no time had passed at all.

"..." has played at Mary's, Front Street Taproom, and now T2 — winning nights at multiple venues. Taste the RAINBOW 🌈 has been a regular at Mary's and El Centenario, always competitive, always colorful. Shady Pines has shown up across Mary's and El Centenario for months. Duke has been logging in since early 2026. Noice! has been active since January 2, 2026. And Quizzlers — formerly Bone Rangers — have been part of the Mary's scene.

These people didn't have to come back. But they did. And that means everything.

Looking Ahead

Trivia night at Together on 2nd is EVERY THURSDAY from 7:00-9:00 PM. Four rounds, 80 questions, interactive device-based play, live leaderboards, and wager rounds that can change everything in an instant.

Stick around after trivia for the Late Night Crew Special: $3 Wells, $2 Beers for the next hour.

Together on 2nd is located at 832 W. 2nd St., Davenport, IA. Best wishes to Matt, Colton, and the whole T2 team — may this place continue to thrive and always be a safe space for everyone.
